What are some good inspirational quotes for teens?

What are some good inspirational quotes for teens? I’m looking for some, that are not too long, and are relatable to teens, and not difficult to comprehend. I have a summer school class assignment where you are supposed to pick a quote, and then write a song about the same central theme. It suppose to be relatable to people around your age group.

"Do what you feel in your heart to be right-for you’ll be criticized anyway. You’ll be damned if you do, and damned if you don’t."
-Eleanor Roosevelt

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent"
-Eleanor Roosevelt

*If you dont know where you’re going every road will take you there.

*Don’t let what you can’t do stop you from doing what you can do.

*You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.

*Courage is the discovery that you may not win, but trying when you know you can lose.

*Sucess is a journey, not a destination.

*Losing isn’t getting knocked down. Losing is not getting back up.

*Life is black and white, its up to you to paint the colours.

*If you don’t learn from your mistakes, there’s no sense making them.

*We are like tea-bags. You don’t know you’re own strength til your in hot water.

*A life lived in fear is half lived.

"if today were perfect there would be no need for tomorrow"

"one’s best success comes after their disappointments"

"life isn’t about finding yourself its about creating yourself"

"the greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say they can’t do"

What is the difference between motivation and propaganda?

What aspects of propaganda would be deemed simple motivation? Is motivation as strong as propaganda?

Motivation is transferring your belief that the facts indicate that we should do (x). EXAMPLE–"I think Saddam Hussein is secretly restoring his WMD capability, and may become a threat to Israel. The United States says they intend to invade, and I think we should help. etc"
Propaganda is the insidious and manipulative distortion, emphasis and omission of the known facts to make people believe, about (person/people), what you WANT them to believe. Perception management, for your own ends.
EXAMPLE–"Saddam has WMD's, deployable in 45 minutes, and is a threat (to whom omitted). The evidence for this is detailed, (false), authorative (false), and extensive (also false). We must act NOW–before it's too late. etc"

Whats a good inspirational SHORT saying to get tattooed on the inside of my left wrist?

I want something inspirational, that i can always look at. Something that can still have meaning in years to come. Also i was planning on getting a dove below the saying representing peace. but it needs to be something short like "This too shall pass"
maybe some proverbs or bible verse examples?

I think you should really try to find something that inspires you and from your life experience. If you can't find something that really inspires you, don't do it. However, here are some ideas…
"Know Thyself"
"Time Waits For No One"
"Truth Is My Light"
"Live So That You May Live"
"Never Give Up"
"Carpe Diem"
"Only God Can Judge Me"
"Do Unto Others"
"Fear Not"
"To Dust You Will Return"
"God Is Love"

What is the best motivational qoute that you have heard?

I am just curious of some of the better motivational qoutes out there.

The best motivational quote I know of is:

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.”

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

The quote means look beyond all what is wrong and you will see what is right. It is saying do not be scared of what is before you just be confident in what you do.

What is the motivation behind the imprisonment of African Americans after the Civil War?

What is the motivation behind the imprisonment of African Americans after the Civil War?

1. To reclaim what was once free labor.
2. To harass for the sake of cruelty.
3. To use prisoners to make money.
4. Numbers 1 and 2.
5. All of the above.

5. And you mean the random jailing of this and that former slave, on a more or less regular basis, not the wholesale imprisonment of every last African American.

Where do you find the inspiration for your questioning antics?

A…I steal it from old ladies i meet in the street.
B..I need no inspiration as i am a font of imagination and amusing wisdoms.
C..I buy it in bulk from Asda.
D..None of the above, as i detest the constraints of multiple choice questions.

The lack of ethics in a world drowning in a cesspool of vitriolic hatred, apathy and violence prompts me to use the little kernels of queries which reside in my cranium because quite frankly, none of your choices apply to me.

Where do you get inspiration for characters?

I've always had a hard time developing characters. I can easily write scenarios and long, detailed stories, however my characters always seem to come out as the same general archetype. Am I doomed to mediocrity, do I have to ask someone else for inspiration? How can I make my imagination go in that direction?

They come to me. First, I think of them as a whole. Like… a woman named Annie. I know a few basic things about Annie: She is the 5th of 6 siblings, she has long, dark, wavy hair and very white skin. Her eyes are grayish blue. She's bipolar and struggles with it.
As I start to write stories with Annie in it, I start finding things out about her. As the stories develop, I find out she was engaged, that her best friend's name is Melissa and that she's a freelancer journalist, and because of her sickness, she writes A LOT and about anything you can imagine, and sells it to all over the world.
Then, the other day, I found out her real name's Annabella and she absolutely hates it. I didn't want it to be like that, but she told me it was, and it was.
Things just happen when I'm writing. The more I write, the more the characters develop themselves, by their actions and reactions!

How to keep the motivation for slimming?

I've been trying to diet for so long but this is extremely difficult. Temptation is everywhere, even in the form of a little snack. How to keep the motivation high. I want to lose 10 kg by this fall.

You definitely should not starve yourself while on a diet because you will only be slowing down your metabolism. You need to eat at least 1200 calories per day.I’ve been on this diet now and I have lost 17 pounds in less than a month. Basically I have been following The Biggest Loser Diet and it has been amazing. I have realized that now I can eat more [quantity wise] of healthy foods than I could of processed, junkie foods. Now I am almost never as hungry as I once was. First, I started cutting out all sodas, sugary soft drinks, and juices and instead I started drinking anywhere between 64-80 ounces of water each and every day. Drinking your water ice cold helps you to not give in to your cravings. Instead of snacking on junk foods try snacking on fruits and vegetables. Fruits can take the place of sweets that you would have been craving before. You should also make sure to watch your portion size because you could be eating the right foods but just too much of it. A great weigh to burn calories quick and get in shape is to do some sort of cardio activity for at least 30 minutes everyday. Personally I would recommend 45 minutes to 1 hour of cardio per day. Another great way to lose weight that will also help you tone up is to start a strength training program. Essentially you should be following through with your strength training program 3-4 days per week.
Here’s an example of what I eat every day;
Breakfast: 1 cup of cream of wheat [you can spice it up with bananas, fruits, spices, etc.]
Snack: 1 cup of grapes
Lunch: Half of a ham/turkey [protein] sandwich on whole-wheat bread
Carrots with a tiny bit of ranch dressing to dip it in.
1 cup Cantaloupe
Snack: ½ cup cottage cheese with mandarin oranges
Dinner: Chicken fajitas on Whole-Wheat tortillas
Dessert: Low-calorie ice-cream bars such as the “Skinny Cow” brand ice cream bars.
Hope this helps you (:
