I’m 15, and I’m seeking to become novelist similar to Stephenie Meyer and Scott Westerfeld. Does anyone have any helpful tips or ideas regarding inspiration, writing, or anything that may prove helpful?
Don’t tie your work to those of other authors. It’s great that they are an inspiration to you, but if your work is too similar to theirs, people may not take you seriously. The first thing that you need to do is come up with a good plot. Forget people who say no more vampire novels. I’m actually writing one myself, and I love to read them. The key with this though, is coming up with an original plot that is all your own. First do the plot, and then take it from there.
Best of luck to you in your writing endeavors!

The most helpful and insightful advice I’ve read was:
Edit, edit, edit. And when you’re done editing, edit, again.

try to think of a plot…dont imagine names or anything with details until u have the core plot wich u can add and do stuff to after its written…
the plot is the most important when writting…atleast thats wat i aim for…
if u can see an incident in real life that had drama or something…try to think about it and digest it in soooo many ways….
but once uve got the core…start to think of the stories incidents and plan them…dont forget to write down EVERYTHING EVRYTHING EVERYTHING….i am not planning on being a writter but i wrote some stories and dazzled some people (in my own right)…
hope i helped
and dont for get that details r like clothes…use them to dazzle and grab their attention…make them hungry for more everytime u write one, make it link so they cant stop eating ang getting hungry for more!!!

Inspiration always comes from within, you must find yourself to find what inspires you. Places, events, music, anything at all. I would first and foremost develop basic writing skills and a healthy vocab. Take some college level classes to help tone your writing skills, the more you write at a professional level the better you will get.

Read. Read Read Read Read Read Read Read Read Read Read Read Read and then read some more. Established authors are better than you or I, they tend to know what they’re talk about. Also, don’t limit yourself to studying one author (especially an author like Meyer). I know that people your age hate classics, but start looking at them.
Oh, and when you’re in college, take some literature classes to expose yourself to different styles, genres, and authors.
Also, instead of just jumping into plot, characters, etc., try to ask a question that you want to answer through writing. Answer it in your own way.
