How can muslims cut through the tape that Mohammad pasted and still make islam a religion of inspiration?

Using Mohammad as the leader of islam does them no good when one reads about his unholy lifestyle in the koran and hadith.

But how can intelligent muslims work through this mess and still change islam to be an inspiration ?

How and what should they be doing in order to achieve this goal?

It is called "massive denial." They just pretend that Muhammad was really a Gandhi, a Buddha or a Jesus Christ, that he never hurt a fly – only his enemies made up such lies in hadith. The only problem is the Quran tells tales that Muslims wish had never been revealed!

    Islam is true religion because its based on human nature not self-made celibacy or monk ship. Almighty Allah ( SWT) do not refrain us to enjoy in this world what is lawful and avoid the footsteps of evil (illegal provisions). Prophet (PBUH) of islam was the best example for us, and as for as His(PBUH) marriages are concerned, note following points:

    1. He (PBUH) married & had never done any thing illegal.
    2. Most of his marriages are for giving shelter to needy divorced or widow women.
    3.Other his marriages was to make peace with different tribes.
    4. The women in Arab reach the age of marriage more early due to environment & climate.( even now a days due to media girls are becoming adult very early)
