Is it bad to use villains as an inspiration?

I personally love Lord Voldemort from the Harry Potter books and Darth Vader from Star Wars. I love them because they know what they want and they all have the heart and brains to dominate, not the kind heart though. I understand the reasons behind their meanness and I see myself in them. Lately, I started to analyze Adolf Hitler's personality and I realized that we fall on the same zodiac sign (don't laugh).
Don't worry I'm not a murderer. I just feel so motivated to reach my dreams to the fullest when I think of them. Should I keep this information as a secret, will it badly affect me if I use them as an inspiration? I think I know the answer, I just want to hear some intelligent views on this.
I would have to say no. I don't see anything wrong with having a villain as an inspiration. You just need to be aware of what about that villain inspires you. Hitler was considered to be very smart and had a strong political grasp. He had a very different view of how to change the world, and it was because of the past he had. I don't personally believe anybody is bad, just some people are lead into the wrong direction. Just know when you're going to far with your goals and know when to ease out and all should be ok. And remember in Hitler's mind, he was not murderer, he thought of himself as a purifier. He was just trying to create the ultimate race. But we are a society of diversity and that didn't really go over too well with the rest of the world. So if you want to take his leadership skills as an inspiration I would totally agree it's ok. Just as long as we don't take his idea of purifying the human race as an inspiration. But if you're concerned about your popularity at school, I wouldn't really tell too many people that Hitler inspires you.

No, I used to use Michael Bolton as my inspiration. We is a sucky white guy who steals songs like "sitting on the dock of the bay" and ruins them with his crappy voice.
He is untalented and unoriginal and the reason I use him as a role model is that if a turd like him can make it to the top, well, so can I!!

Don't share your capacity to be inspired by villians with religious fundamentalists or ideological nerds.
I have trouble with that zodiac sign stuff. I almost fall asleep when the subject comes up. An attractive girl once pranced up to me at a party and asked, "What's your sign?"
"Slippery when wet," I answered.

No it isnt wrong because villans are that little voice inside of us "The Id" that says gimmie gimmie and pursuades the rest of our mind to help in the getting of what we want, you have to remember that he reason we sometimes love villans is not because of their awesome outfits or powers. It is because they have the balls, intellect and cunning to get what they want and half the time not get in trouble for it….and damn it thats a damn fine trait to admire

No the basis of all stories is how good presides over evil -
so without the villains you wouldn't have the goodies.

Perhaps it is necessary to ask where you intend to utilize the inspiration, for the arts, the sciences, the occult? Bad or good is just binary logic. If you believe in wholeness, in each one of us there is the presence of both. If we fail or refuse to acknowledge this shadow side, if we cannot honor, embrace, name or confront this part of us they will surface out in the most unexpected moments of our lives. We get shocked, afraid or angry in the process.

No it is not wrong. Great villains, by definition, had great talents — otherwise they would not be great. They have just misused their talents for evil(although most of them did not think that they were evil — Hitler thought that he is doing the right things).
So it is not wrong to look up to Great villains for their great qualities — but not for their "villain" qualities.
So if one looks up to Hitler for being a Great public speaker(which he certainly was, watch the videos of Hitler speaking — people seem hypnotized!) — it is ok.
If one looks up to Hitler for being a great economist(he pulled the Germany out of depression) — it is OK.
But, if you look up to Hitler for the mass murders he committed, or the wars he started — that is not OK, it means that you want to be evil — not Great.
So to summarize: it is OK to look up to Great Villains for their greatness — not for their Villainy.

It is not bad to use villains as an ispiration, however, that's only because villains do not have to be the antagonists. In all your cases they are (sorry) but actually, Darth Vader would have been when he was Anakin. But I digress… Let me think. uh…Uh. Sorry, right now no one comes to mind, but there are good villains out there.
