hi, for my GCSE coursework i am doing some work on pop art and sort of have to create my own piece, the thing is don’t really get it, where exactly does the inspiration come from, what’s the point? etc. could someone please summarize it simply. thankyou.
Pop art stands for Popular Art, so it’s basically any type of style that got popular in a fast amount of time. The Marilyn Monroe pop art and soup cans are really good examples.
Inspiration comes from anything. It’s like regular art that someone found a way to express differently. This can be the use of silk screen or just traditional art.
The point? To express yourself or bring out an idea you wanted people to focus on. This can just be for the sake of making something.
Good luck ^ ^!
