What’s the best thing to do when searching for inspiration?

I’ve been waiting for inspiration for a while now, what does the general public do to become inspired?
this is like asking me too tell you how to describe what lightning smells like to a deaf Fornair.
i have no way of know the art within you.

If it is art you need to be inspired by and I assume it is because of where you posted it . Then just do some searches for all kinds of art,
and see what strikes your fancy, till something in your brain says that’s it, that’s what I want to do.
Some people need complete silence and need to be alone to be inspired. While others need to be around people for inspiration.Try and go to a museum of art. Or to an art gallery. Most people find inspiration around other people that do the same thing, like in art or photography.
Open up your mind and let it all come in.And get out of your slump.

sadness triggers inspiration in me in the most unexpected and rewarding ways.. also a song with powerful lyrics, or going through somebody else’s portfolio or reading a piece of poetry whose metaphores awaken my imagination….

waiting and trying too hard never worked for me. I picture myself as the child I was, what I liked then (in art school for instance). or I go back to a happy visual memory. what also works for me in a funny way: telling myself I should not be inspired, so blocking it. because I don’t like rules and restrictions, usually a bright idea emerges in no time…
