what's the difference between being inspirational, and being insightful?

inspirational is the ability to "enlighten someone's mind" or to have an impact on their emotions, it also means to open someone's mind

insightful is to have different perspectives or viewpoints on something

they are different, yet somewhat alike, any opinions on the difference between them? or maybe they are more alike then it seems?

to offer insight on to something is to give an opinion on it and u physically have to do something to be insightful (e.g – talk to a person about a situation etc.) There needs to be some discussion …

To inspire is to motivate someome to do act in a certain way or take a certain action or think in a particular way and, this is the biggest different, you do not have to DO anything to be inspirational. You don't have to offer opinion or 'provide' insight – u just ARE. and your being, your attitude perhaps, your manners, your being … that causes others to act in a certain way.

so, i think they are very different …

    A person can be inspirational just by making people feel better and more motivated. They can do this without having any insights whatsoever; some people keep churning out the same conventional stuff, and something about their character makes them natural leaders. Insightful people, on the other hand, might not be inspirational at all. It is often very difficult to communicate an insight effectively. I would say that it is rare to find the two together in the same person to any high degree, although you are right to see them both as valuable
