I'm doing Oral Interpretations for my speech class. It has to be 6 to 8 minutes long. I basically memorize a speech and perform in front of the class. I want to do an inspirational movie speech for mine. I wanted to do Braveheart but it seems way too short. Do you know any well-known movie speeches that are 6 to 8 minutes long? Two 3 minute speeches would work too. As long as it meets the time requirement when saying it.
Independence Day (1996):
President Thomas Whitmore:
Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. "Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom… Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution… but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!
Not long enough, but it's a start.

I definitely agree wth beatle's choice of the Great Dictator…
Also, a speech done for a graduating class from MIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wear_Sunscreen was remixed into the song "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" and became "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" from the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. It is a pretty good speech.
President Whitmore's Speech – Independence Day
William Wallace's Speech to his Countrymen – Braveheart
