I want to lose weight but I always give up too early to notice any progress.
How can I get the motivation to stay away from food I know is bad for me and keep on exercising?
1、Exercise. Cardio is essential for weight loss. Initially 30 minutes a day is an appropriate amount of exercise. Over time, you want to work up to 60 to 90 minutes a day in order to lose weight quickly.

Gd it’s hard.
You just need to really want to be healthier.
TIPS-
Wear a rubber band (maybe a colored one if you don’t want it dull =D)
And every time you want that cookie or pizza, snap the rubber band on your wrist.
It will make your mind associate these "bad foods" with pain.
Chew gum. Mint preferably.
Every time you get a craving chew a piece of gum, you won’t want to waste the piece and the flavor of the gum will ruin the flavor of the "Devil food".

Lost 67 pounds… Gd it was hard. But it gets easier.
I was tired of being tired and having my knees hurt all the time. I felt trapped at the weight I was (I’m 5’4" and I was over 170 – not sure how far because getting on a scale was too depressing). I started Weight Watchers and got down to a healthy weight – 140 – where I have been for 8 years with some fluctuation up and down. I don’t "stay away" from food. I just had some mint chocolate chip ice cream awhile ago. It was delicious. : ) It’s a matter of counting it into my total consumption of calories for the day. No big deal.
Wishing you well.

You CAN lose weight. and you really want to.
Look at yourself now. Are you pleased?
If not, then that’s motivation enough.
Think of how you want to look. Keep that image in your mind whenever you reach for the nearest bag of chips.
You can email me if you want. I need help too… :-\

I just keep telling myself "I’m almost there, I’m almost there!" because my dream for the summer is to fit back into my bathing suit even though I am admittedly a crap swimmer. But that doesn’t matter! what matters is that I work everyday little by little towards my goal! whether is 10mins on the exercise machine or doing 20 crunches per hour.
either way one step towards my goal is a step nonetheless!
good luck!

This is dangeous, but should work:
Google for images of morbidly obese people (enter "morbid obesity" on images.google.com). Now, imagine that it is your near future if you don’t continue excersizing.
Here you go. Just don’t scare yourself too much and try to avoid starving yourself to death.

First thing to know is that you are the only one who can motivate yourself. Losing weight has to be done for you. Not please husband,b/f,mom,dad, no one.
Only you can say enough is enough. The fight begins(and it is a fight) the very first time you want that cookie, or you don’t want to exercise. That is the precise time that you have to leave the cookie or start you exercise. Even if you don’t finish a whole routine. Get something done.
Next make a schedule that you will have the best chance of keeping, say 1/2 an hour every other day for exercise. Start slow, maybe just a walk or if you have access to a treadmill. Then each week increase your exercise time.
Snacks; Try a low or fat free cracker. I like Town House Club Fat free crackers they are tasty and very satisfying. Its not easy but once your routine becomes part of your daily schedule you will be success full.
Good luck, I know you can do it.
