How much should I charge to become a motivational speaker?

I would like to speak to kids about dreams, goals and self esteem in the Newark Public School System. I would like to know how much should I charge as a fee?

It depends on your expertise. There has to be a reason that people will want to hire you specifically and you should set your price accordingly.

As for speaking to schools, most speakers to public schools only charge the coverage of their expenses (gas costs to get to the school, hotel if you are staying overnightm etc) because public schools can not afford much

    If you start out doing it from your heart (not looking for compensation) others will see your expertise and pay you what you are genuinely worth.
