My dad enjoyed Tony Dungy's "Quiet Strength." Anything similar out there, maybe a bit less religious? Inspiration/life/football are a good combination, or something similar. Maybe an inspirational war story. Over coming the odds. That kind of thing. Thanks

"This book is amazing. It has helped me so much! I will honestly say, this is the best motivational book out there, if not one of the best books I've ever read. My father had this book in his study…curious to what it was, I picked it up and read it. I had no idea that that one little book of 203 pages, would change my life so much. I'm one of those people that felt like their life was a mess and that there was no hope…after reading this book I felt worthy to have my dreams come true. It talks about how important goal setting is (and shows you how to set them), and that alone has made me more successful and motivated in my life. It talks about self-motivation and self-talk…fascinating details about human behavior. As a 17-year old female…I must say this book is a must-read for all ages! I absolutely love this book! It will change your life and perspective of every complication that may come your way, and if you don't already love yourself…this book will show you how."

"Seabiscuit" by Laura Hillenbrand
A truly well-written, researched and great book about the lives of each of three men who become involved with the 'funny-looking horse' Seabiscuit, as they all overcome great odds in the sport of kings– horse-racing. A true story reflecting men's loves, loyalties, and will to work after grievous injury…
Starting with awesome description of how jockeys had to fight so hard to win a race at a course in Mexico (horse-racing having been declared illegal in the US) and going on to how some simply fought, to try to make a few dollars to live on, and how most always fought to keep the weight off… the book goes on for pages much more worthy than a pretty good movie. (And it's not overly long!)
This book gets a top recommendation from me.
