Something that inspires you and makes you feel like you can take on the world. Something that gives you the feeling of overwhelming confidence. Remember, the most motivational FICTION book.
If anyone says Twilight, I would like to punch them in the face but that is impossible unfortunately.
Everyman by Philip Roth is a rough read that really made me evaluate how I live. The book is about the life of man, and every encounter he has in life with illness and death. It can really make you re-evaluate any nasty habits when you read 250 pages of that.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy is an outstanding novel about the nature of humanity. The book is about a man and his son traveling down the coast in a post-apocolypic United States, their struggle to survive, and the struggle to retain humanity in the worst conditions.

Whoever says Twilight fails.
I think the story 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher is really inspiring. It doesn't necessarily give you overwhelming confidence, but it helps you to see life in a new perspective. It really motivated me to change criticism towards people because I don't know how it can effect others. Sounds cheesy, but that's how I felt.

The Count of Monte Cristo. I read an abridged version first, got it for fifty cents at a book fair. I was so swept away by the story and the determination of this man that I had to get the unabridged the next day. He overcomes so many obstacles in pursuit of his goals.
A close second: Passage, by Connie Willis.
