Who do you think is the best motivational player in cricket?

I mean motivational – the ability to encourage, cheer and back up one's team mates and let them see the positive side even when things are not so looking good – and not about his performance as a player.

Australia – Gilchrist & Brett Lee
South Africa – Gibbs & Dale Steyn
New Zealand – Mc Cullum & Shane Bond
India – Ms Dhoni & Harbajan Singh
Pakistan – Mohammed Asif & Shoaib Akthar
Sri lanka – Sanath Jayasuriya & Lasith Malinga
England – Masacarehnas & Ryan Sidebottom
West Indies –
Bangaladesh – Mohammed Rafique & Shahadat Hossain

Every team has a motivational player…

Cheers!

  3. My favorite Cricket team is India so I will talk about their players.

They don't usually loose- BUT If they are like loosing all the players encourage the bowlers to try and not to play under pressure BUT for the most of the time I have seen players like SACHIN TENDULKAR, YUVRAJ SINGH and MS DHONI cheering up to the bowlers and like giving them a hope etc…

  11. I would say Sachin Tendulkar who has always helped other emerging batsmen and bowlers in practice sessions. For example, he helped utthappa, gambhir, singh, ishant to improve. I think he told rohit sharma to creat more room to play and next game he scored 66 something,,,,

He is a idol for all the younger players. He has remarkable achievements in a very short time (20-20 Cup & The Indian Tour Of Australia) and I think that he will reach the pinnacle of glory and achievements very soon with this pace

  18. Mike Brearley- a very astute tactician. As a player, he would struggle to get in the England team (higest test score 91) but as an inspiring captain he was teriffic.
Do you remember the Ashes series of 1981 (Botham's Ashes). It was only after Botham stepped down/sacked as captain did England start performing. Brearley was the motivational force.

  19. I bet every captain and a senior player does motivate his
player even when the chips are down. Since cricket is a team
sport, Captains do their best to encourage his team
members to give 110% and to try hard. A quality senior
member also motivates a youngster or even a senior player
    as well.

I see this from Sachin guiding his young teammates while he is on the field. I have seen him doing this even with his senior
partners while batting. I bet he does the same off field encouraging them what to do and what to look for.

  21. From SA, it's definitely AB de Villiers. You can always see him trying to encourage the guys and he's always optimistic. A great team player I'd say.
Hard to pick the others as you really have to follow a team a lot to notice these guys.
