What is a funny, inspirational quote from 30 Rock or the Office?

For my senior page, I want to include a quote from one of these two shows (preferable Liz Lemon or Michael Scott) that has an inspirational message but is funny. I’ve found a couple but none I really love.

never seen 30 rock but a great Michael quote
—-"People I respect, heroes of mine, would be: Bob Hope, um, Abraham Lincoln, definitely, Bono…uh, and probably God would be the fourth one. And, I just think all those people really, uh, helped the world in so many ways, that it’s, um, it’s really beyond words. It’s really "incalculcable.""
Also
—-"I hope Youtube comes down to film this"
and for inspiration
—-I’m impressed with the potential you see in me

What do you do for inspiration or motivation?

Everybody is different. Be it, listening to music, exercising or reading a good book.

What do YOU do for inspiration or motivation?

i can do a lot of things trying to get inspiration or motivation, but usually it just comes to me at a random moment when i’m not even looking for it

like sometimes after i do something i just sit down for a while and start drowning in my own thoughts, and then it just comes to me

sometimes i get inspiration and motivation from something i see, or something somebody says, like if someone compliments, me, that’ll give me motivation…

What is a good motivational quote about literature?

I have to find a motivational quote for my English class and I can’t seem to find any good ones.
I would also have to be able to explain it.

this is a paraphrase and maybe googling on your part will turn up the exact words: "Those who can read but don’t are no better off than those who can’t read at all."

On a more humorous note, I like Groucho Marx’s (again, a paraphrase): Outside of a dog, reading is a man’s best friend. Inside of a dog, it’s too dark to read!

What is your inspiration when writing stories?

I have been off my writing game for a while now and now that getting back on it, I am just curious to see how others get their inspiration when writing fiction stories. For me, it is music. After listening to a good song, I can picture the scene clear as day. Also watching a real good tv show or movie. So what is your inspiration when it comes to writing stories.

Listening to music is a good source of inspiration. But there are also other ways to find inspiration to write. You can take on habits that bring creative discoveries such as writing a journal, meditation, or taking a camera and going out to shoot beautiful pictures. You’ll be surprised at how much these activities can give you new perspectives and inspirations.

Any good information on the first nations people for vegan inspiration?

Any good information on the first nations people for vegan inspiration? Recipes, clothing ideas, etc.,

I am told I have distant native ancestry. Probably Iroquois on my mother’s side. I want embrace elements of this that green and earth-friendly.

Your veganism doesn’t have to have anything to do with your heritage. On the other hand I incorporate native american, druid and other pagan practices into my spirituality and those led me to veganism and using environmentally friendly products. For example Earth Safe lotions, shampoos, etc.

I read a book called VeganFreak – Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World, and that’s a very supportive book for new vegans and I just recently started reading The Omnivore’s Dilemma which is a book that explores different approaches to food and our relationship to it. It seems very good so far.

What artists use themselves as inspiration for their work?

I have been set an art project and part of the task is to research artists who use themselves as inspiration. I have search google but can’t find an answer! Can anyone help me out?

You can’t get inspiration that is any more personal than painter Alison Bickle who uses her own body and face, and her own fantasies and dreams as the total inspiration for her amusingly enchanting paintings.

"Alison Bickle puts herself in her own imaginative, fun fantasies, placed in her own dream-like word of exotic jungles."

"Alison Blickle uses herself as the model for her beautifully painted, fun, naughty, whimsical, humorous, fantasy paintings."

"She creates her personal dream-like world of lush foliaged Rousseauian jungles and strange settings where she is often somehow (as in everyone’s dreams) delightfully nude."

How do I generate inspiration for writing?

I’ve tried taking a break and just walking or driving around, but I can’t seem to generate any inspiration for good fantasy story ideas. Any advice?

First of all, keep writing. It doesn’t matter what you write about. Write a description of a street sign, or a dialog of a mother, her daughter and a dog. Just keep writing, so when insperation does hit you, your writing chops will embrace it and develop it.

Second of all, try doing and observing different media. Music, TV, movies, poems, art, performance art, politics, comedy, etc.

Third, write a list of unexpected things that might be in someone’s car. Make up a story about that. It might not be the story you are looking for, but it might inspire the story you are looking for.

Fourth, Go see an awesome historical sight and listen to the guide. Soak in awesomeness. Consider what is epic.

Fifth,
Surf youtube for someone in the age range of your target audience which talks about some opinon.
Search youtube for the Davos question. Ask yourself what sort of fantasy setting would highlight this question and if there was some fantastic element like what some of the pepole suggest is the answer in it, how do you think the story would play out given there is someone who might have the qualities to be heroic and do the right thing?
Watch some Ted Talk lectures on Hulu. They help consider different amazing things about the world. It is real fantasy. Take some of the messages and consider them the norm for your fantasy world, then write a story about it.

Sixth, consider a theme. Perhaps some issue that you have been having problems working out. Perhaps even being stuck creativily. Give each part of the issue a charector to advocate and a power similar to the issue.

Seventh, look for conflict in opinon, court cases, at the breakfast club, the local civic group which has no leaders and consider how that might develop in a fantastic setting.

Eight, investigate anthropology issues and social issues that make great term paper topics. Maybe read through a bunch of term papers.

What’s a great way to become a motivational speaker for youth in schools?

I would like to start an anti-bullying/racial intolerance motivational speaking program, but not sure where to begin. What tips would you have for someone without any experience?

It’s a very difficult field to be in and I know, because I work part time in it. Your subject is a tough one because anti-bullying/racism/LGBT can be started by anyone. I started with a somewhat "miracle" situation. I was in the music field, lost my speech for 10 months and worked myself back to singing/music when the docs said I was never going to speak correctly again, none-the-less, sing. If you’ve had some sort of situation happen to you (many of my speaker friends come off shows like "it’s a miracle" or "I shouldn’t be alive" type shows), interview people impacted by your subject. Gather their stories, do field work- go to the city, observe school systems.

This was a field I would have never guessed I would go into. It started with Profs wanting me to share my story in the college music classes, then have me travel to their music fests/ give speeches there, then it branched into people wanting me to speak/inter-view me world wide. If you have an "in" with a school system start there. I suggest where you graduated from or in your town.

Also, MAKE a website with your contact info. Do a FB group page and your own personal site. Take a public speaking class if you have no experience. Luckily, I came out of music, so being in front of an audience never bothered me. Look over how I set mine up and it can give you an idea/example:

Looking into unpaid positions may also give you a good start for credentials (like speaking at the local YMCA or a soup kitchen)

How do you get inspiration for the 365 day challenge?

I want to start up the 365 challenge, where you take a self portrait each day of the year. But I dont know how I am ever going to hve enough ideas to do that…. I am just a beginer photographer, so I was thinking this would boost my photography skills & help me understand more about it.
Are any of you doing the challenge? Where do you get your inspiration?

Taking the same type of photo (self portrait)everyday for 365 is not going boost your skills and you’ll probably get pretty bored after the first month, but a better way is to take your camera everywhere with you and take photos around your home, garden, work or school.

Look around you (most people don’t) and before you even touch the camera examine what ever catches your eye looking at it from various angles that way it will hone your compositional and observational skills.

Photography is 99% seeing. Sounds daft but if you don’t take time to look round you you can’t find the really good photos. You’ll know them when you see them so don’t try to hard.

Check this guy’s Flickr photostream and see how he takes photos of everyday stuff and makes it interesting. You don’t need anything more than a snappy camera to do it.
