I really love writing super long stories and I can usually come up with a bunch of good ideas. But, when I have writers-block, I have a hard time coming up with inspiration. Now, it’s fine when I do it for pleasure, but when I do it for school assignments, it gets difficult.

Watching movie trailers has almost always cured me from writer’s block. The dramatic music and epic action scenes shown in only two minutes can really help you out. Watch several of those and see if you get any ideas from what you see. Don’t steal the ideas from the movie plot – get inspired. Watch the newest trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Do you get any ideas from that?

I am currently a med stud 3rd year. it is difficult and i am stressing out. The motivations that used to help me do not work anymore. I need motivation to study medicine. what is your motivation?

I just finished 2nd year. When I get really tired of studying I just stop and think about how privileged and lucky we are to be medical students. I also want to continue with med school because it will give me skills that I can use for life. We have a long life ahead of us and while quitting now might make life easy now, what will you do with the rest of your life? I know it’s tough and I sometimes feel like it’s not worth it, but it is.

The title says it all.
Mine is Master Chief from the Halo series. He is my most inspirational fictional character because he is the strong and silent type, and how he succeeds in all his challenges.

Master Chief is nothing without the armour. Nukem is pretty badass, wouldn’t mind being him. Also The Prince of Cosmos. Dispite his size, he does what he’s supposed to… whatever that is again.

I don’t want my next tattoo to be cliche, but I know I want it to represent starting a brand new life and breaking away from my old "toxic" life.

I don’t want to do something cliche like those "rebirth" tattoos or a bird coming out of a cage.

Where does one find the creativity and/or inspiration for coming up with a design?

A lot of people struggle about what to get for their tattoo because they try too hard to get something that literally relates to what the tattoo is.

So someone who likes sailing gets an anchor or a singer gets a mic or a music note.

Im getting a tattoo but the reason Im getting it doesnt directly fit with what the tattoo is of.
But I give it the meaning i want because its my tattoo and it means what I want it to.

So get anything.

What served as inspiration for 19th century programmatic music?
Would it be things such as nature and a newfound nationalism?

There was use of:

- Greek mythology, — Beethoven Overture "Creatures of Prometheus";

- some ancient religious leaders. — Richard Strauss, "Also spracht Zarathustra (a tone poem);

- Bizet delved into French folklore — L’Arlesienne Suite

- Smetana was nationalistic – see "The Moldau" about the river that begins serene enough and winds its way through the countryside, then becomes a raging torrent. It’s very well depicted in his composition.

- Many composers chose religious subjects: Haydn "The Seven Last Words of Christ" (not sure if title is correct).

- Liszt is overflowing with programmatic music. Check Wikipedia for the list, the most famous being "Les Preludes" (stages of a man’s life).

- Debussy is so romantic with his "Nuages" and "Sirens" programmed music.

I am very motivated to workout and I enjoy it a lot, but when it comes to food I can’t resist the temptation to eat donuts and chips, etc. I love fruits and vegetables but they are expensive and not always in my house. How can I find the motivation to stop eating junk food?

Good thing is , you love and concern yourself! I dont think donuts and chips are cheaper than an apple, orange and banana. Dont give yourself any excuse, if you are living alone, keep fruits in your kitchen, and throw away any junk foods. When you are going to lose control and want to eat them out… just think about you have to love yourself , and why not go out for a walk with MP3 music. And find out some interesting and help you to draw out your attention with junk food.
